about christina...

Hello!  My name is Christina Vowinkel.  I began my career at The Young Women's Leadership School of Astoria, where I taught English Language Arts, Humanities, Reading, Digital Storytelling, and Fitness.  Currently, I teach 7th Grade Humanities at School of the Future.

On my free time, I love reading!  My favorite genre is fiction, particularly classics, young adult, and realistic fiction, but I like reading other genres too.  In general, I love novels that have great characters and books that make me think about the world in a different way.  I also enjoy being active (participating in athletic sports/activities, exploring nature, hiking, etc.), trying new types of foods, and learning more about French language and culture.

I love seeing my students grow throughout the year, and I love learning from them as well.  There is never a day that goes by when my students don't teach me something new.  I am looking forward to a wonderful year ahead!
